Apple CarPlay Ultra remains limited to luxury vehicles

Apple’s CarPlay Ultra, a highly integrated infotainment system designed to control vehicle functions like climate and engine data, remains limited to high-end luxury models. Despite being over 15 months since its initial announcement, the technology has not yet expanded beyond Aston Martin vehicles.

While Aston Martin is expanding availability across its model range, other manufacturers such as Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis are expected to implement the system later. Unlike standard CarPlay, the Ultra version integrates deeply with a car’s digital instrument cluster and vehicle data, requiring specific hardware cooperation rather than simple software updates.
