Apple cider vinegar consumption linked to weight loss in clinical studies
An analysis of 10 randomized clinical trials involving adults with overweight, obesity, or type 2 diabetes has examined the effects of daily apple cider vinegar consumption. The studies, which lasted between 4 and 12 weeks, involved participants consuming 5 to 30 ml of apple cider vinegar daily, often diluted in water.
Statistically, daily consumption was associated with an average weight reduction of approximately 7.45 kg, a BMI decrease of about 2 kg/m², and a reduction in waist circumference of roughly 2.95 cm. These figures represent an aggregate statistical effect across the studies rather than a guaranteed result for every individual.
The research highlighted that dosage plays a critical role. A significant reduction in body weight was observed at a dosage of 30 ml per day, whereas doses between 5 and 15 ml did not yield statistically significant results regarding weight loss.
