Apple cites securities fraud case to pause Epic Games lawsuit

Apple has asked a federal judge to pause the ongoing lawsuit with Epic Games, arguing that a recently suspended securities fraud case supports its request. The securities case, brought by the City of Coral Springs Police Officers Pension Plan, accuses Apple of misleading investors about compliance with an injunction and the timing of AI‑powered Siri features.

Judge Noël Wise paused the securities case pending a U.S. Supreme Court decision on whether Apple can be held in civil contempt for charging commissions on purchases made outside the App Store. Apple submitted that ruling to Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, seeking a similar pause in the Epic Games proceedings. Epic Games opposes the delay, insisting the lower court should continue its work while the Supreme Court reviews the commission issue.
