Apple classifies 2017 MacBook 12-inch, iPad 6, and BeatsX as obsolete

Apple has updated its list of vintage and obsolete products, officially designating the 2017 12-inch MacBook Retina, the sixth-generation iPad (both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular models), and BeatsX wireless earphones as obsolete.

Under Apple’s policy, “obsolete” status is applied to devices that have not been distributed for more than seven years. This designation means that Apple and its authorized service providers will no longer offer hardware repair services or replacement parts for these specific models. While the devices remain functional, owners can no longer rely on official technical support or component replacements, such as batteries, through Apple Stores.

This update marks the end of support for the entire 12-inch MacBook line. Users with these devices may need to seek assistance from independent repair shops, though part availability may vary.
