Apple continues legal battle against leaker Jon Prosser
Apple and leaker Jon Prosser remain in a legal dispute regarding the alleged unauthorized disclosure of trade secrets related to iOS 26 and macOS 26. In a recent joint status report, Apple stated it is still awaiting YouTube revenue records, channel analytics, and third-party communications from Prosser to investigate whether he gained financially from these leaks.
Prosser’s legal team argues that they have already fulfilled their discovery obligations and accuses Apple of continuously adding new document requests. The defense also contends that the information Apple claims is a trade secret is no longer confidential, as it has been made public following the official release of the software.
Apple maintains that evidence, including Signal exchanges between Prosser and Michael Ramacciotti, suggests a coordinated effort to obtain and disclose confidential information for profit. Ramacciotti, who previously admitted to showing Prosser a development iPhone via FaceTime, has denied any conspiracy and is seeking to distance himself from Prosser’s defense.
