Apple Corps and Universal Music Group sign global Beatles merchandising deal
Apple Corps and Universal Music Group (UMG) have entered into a new long-term, exclusive global partnership to manage The Beatles’ merchandising, licensing, and e-commerce. While UMG has managed the band’s music catalog for 14 years, this expanded agreement covers all physical and digital products worldwide.
The deal precedes several major upcoming projects for the band. In 2027, Apple Corps plans to open ‘The Beatles at 3 Savile Row’ in London, a seven-story official fan experience featuring archival materials, a museum, and a recreation of the studio where ‘Let It Be’ was recorded.
Additionally, a cinematic event consisting of four biographical films directed by Sam Mendes is scheduled for release in 2028. This project marks the first time the band has granted full life story and music rights for scripted films. Cast members for the biopics include Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon.
