Liverpool to host massive new Beatles immersive experience in 2028
Apple Corps has announced plans to transform and relocate ‘The Beatles Story’ museum to a new 9,300-square-meter site in the heart of Liverpool by 2028. The project will move the attraction from its current location at the Royal Albert Dock to the former St John’s Market, situated near the Lime Street railway station.
The new facility will be more than four times the size of the existing museum, offering a multi-hour immersive journey through the band’s history. Using advanced technology, original artifacts, and reconstructed sets, visitors will experience iconic locations including the Cavern Club, Abbey Road studios, Shea Stadium, and Savile Row. Some sets and props will be sourced from director Sam Mendes’ upcoming quartet of Beatles biographical films.
Additionally, the nearby St Johns Beacon will be renovated into a standalone attraction inspired by the ‘Yellow Submarine’ animated film, featuring a 360-degree panoramic view of the city. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have expressed support for the project, which aims to create a world-class destination for fans. A portion of ticket revenue will be directed to the Apple Corps Liverpool Trust to support emerging local artists.
