Apple cuts over 200 jobs in Vision Pro and Siri divisions

Apple is cutting more than 200 jobs across its Siri and Vision Pro divisions. Approximately half of the layoffs affect the Vision Pro teams, specifically impacting the gaming department and the Apple Immersive Video team. The remaining cuts target the Siri team and the Intelligent Systems Experience group, which focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into devices.

An Apple spokesperson confirmed the changes, stating that the company is shifting resources to focus on user experiences and new software and device projects. While some positions are being eliminated, the company noted that new roles will be created in other areas, and affected employees will have the opportunity to apply for different positions within Apple.

The timing of these cuts coincides with the leadership transition from Tim Cook to John Ternus, who is set to take over on September 1. The layoffs, announced on August 21, suggest a strategic realignment of resources as the company prioritizes different technological directions.
