Apple's iOS 27 launch delays new Siri in EU as iOS 26.5.2 security update rolls out

Apple announced iOS 27 for release in September, introducing a conversational Siri that can retain context across interactions. The new Siri AI will launch as a beta later in the year, initially in English, with other languages to follow. Due to the European Union’s Digital Markets Act, the updated Siri will not be available on iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch in EU markets at launch, though macOS and Vision Pro users in the region will have access when using a supported language.

Separately, Apple released iOS 26.5.2, a maintenance update that does not add user‑visible features but patches roughly thirty security flaws, many affecting the WebKit browsing engine. Parallel updates for iPadOS 26.5.2 and macOS 26.5.2 were also issued, reinforcing Apple’s effort to shore up the ecosystem ahead of the major iOS 27 rollout.
