Apple plans AirPods 5 launch and iOS 27 updates
Apple is preparing several major hardware and software updates. According to reports from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the company plans to launch AirPods 5 in September 2026. This new generation is expected to include two distinct models: a standard version and a version featuring active noise cancellation (ANC).
Separate from the AirPods 5, Apple is reportedly developing AirPods equipped with cameras. These devices are intended to work with Apple Intelligence and Siri to provide visual information about the user's surroundings, such as identifying objects or reading text. However, these camera-enabled models are not expected to arrive until 2027.
On the software front, Apple has released the seventh developer beta for its major operating systems, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27. The iOS 27 update features a significant overhaul of Siri, integrating it more deeply with Apple Intelligence to allow for more conversational and context-aware interactions.
