Apple develops Siri AI with focus on privacy and integration
Apple is redesigning its voice assistant, Siri, through a project known as Siri AI. The goal is to create an integrated, nearly invisible artificial intelligence that can understand context, retrieve personal information from emails and messages, and perform tasks across different applications with minimal user intervention.
To balance performance and security, Apple is utilizing a hybrid approach that combines local on-device processing with Private Cloud Compute. This infrastructure is designed to maintain data privacy even when complex tasks require cloud-based processing. While Apple has a collaboration with Google regarding foundational models and training technology, the company maintains that its assistant will not directly use Google's consumer-facing products.
An update for Siri AI in Spanish is expected to be available on October 22, 2026, depending on regional deployment and device compatibility with Apple Intelligence.
