Apple enhances Shortcuts automation with iOS 27 and Things update
Apple is introducing significant updates to its Shortcuts ecosystem through upcoming software and third-party integrations. The task management application Things has released an update that expands its automation capabilities via Apple Shortcuts, adding nine new actions that allow users to query databases, create projects with headings, and edit or duplicate items.
Additionally, the iOS 27 beta features revamped Shortcuts functionality driven by Apple Intelligence. A new feature called ‘Describe a Short’ allows users to generate automation flows through conversational prompts, reducing the need for manual scripting. This integration aims to make complex automations more accessible to general users by allowing them to describe desired outcomes in plain language.
