Apple executives attend Sun Valley tech summit in Idaho
Apple chief executive Tim Cook, incoming CEO John Ternus and senior vice president Eddy Cue joined a roster of technology, media and finance leaders at the 2026 Allen & Co. Sun Valley Conference in Idaho. The invitation‑only retreat runs through July 11 and is famed for private, informal networking that has historically sparked major deals such as Disney’s purchase of ABC and Verizon’s acquisition of AOL.
The Apple delegation was accompanied by notable figures including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Alphabet chief Sundar Pichai and LinkedIn co‑founder Reid Hoffman. The gathering marks Cook’s final appearance as Apple’s CEO before he transitions to executive chairman later this year, while Ternus is set to assume the CEO role on Sept. 1. Cue continues his long‑standing participation in the summit.
The conference, held in Sun Valley, Idaho, is deliberately secretive with no public agenda, allowing executives to discuss ideas and potential partnerships away from the media spotlight.
