Apple expands iOS 27 beta with Car Key support for Lucid and Xiaomi

Apple’s third iOS 27 developer beta introduces several updates. The release adds new Siri AI customization options, including voice tone sliders for devices with the A19 Pro processor and at least 12 GB RAM, and minor visual tweaks such as a bright flash under the Siri bubble and renamed settings. The update also notes that Siri AI features remain unavailable in Europe because of regional regulations.

Within the beta code, Apple placed identifiers “LCID” and “XIA1,” which are being interpreted as signals that the upcoming Apple Car Key feature will soon support Lucid Motors vehicles and Xiaomi’s newly launched electric models. Car Key lets users lock, unlock and start a car using an iPhone or Apple Watch, extending the Apple Wallet ecosystem to these brands. No specific model or launch date is confirmed, but the presence of the code in a public beta suggests an imminent rollout.
