Apple explores screenless wearable for health monitoring

Apple is reportedly exploring the development of a screenless wearable device, such as a fitness band, to expand its presence in the health and wellness market. This concept focuses on continuous monitoring of health metrics, sleep, and recovery rather than providing notifications, apps, or visual interaction.

By removing the display, the device would function primarily as a sensor, shifting the user experience to a dedicated application. This strategy aims to compete with existing screenless trackers from companies like Whoop, Oura, Fitbit, and Garmin. A screenless design could also potentially offer significantly longer battery life compared to the traditional Apple Watch.

This exploration comes as Apple seeks to refresh its wearables division and respond to changing consumer trends. Other hardware concepts under consideration include watches with different shapes, ceramic cases, and new display options. However, no official launch date or confirmation of the screenless band has been announced.
