For a stolen iPhone, Apple advises against showing personal details, as they could be used for extortion. In all cases users must keep the device listed in the Find My iPhone app and never delete it, because removal disables Activation Lock and makes the phone reusable after a factory reset. Marking a device as lost immediately locks it and requires the original Apple ID password to reactivate, protecting data and deterring reuse.
