Apple faces divided Wall Street reactions after iPhone Duo reveal

Following the reveal of the iPhone Duo and the iPhone 18 lineup, Wall Street analysts have expressed divided opinions on Apple's stock trajectory. While the showcase initially pushed shares 3.56% higher, expert outlooks range from highly bullish to bearish. TD Cowen issued a positive recommendation with a $400 price target, whereas Barclays issued a ‘Sell’ rating, forecasting a potential 24.98% decline.

Other financial institutions provided mixed assessments. JPMorgan noted a good balance in pricing, while Bank of America and Rosenblatt raised concerns regarding potential negative impacts on margins due to lower-than-expected prices. Citi maintained a ‘Buy’ rating, predicting an 11.77% rise.

Market analysts also noted that Apple appeared to lack a clearly defined target audience for the new foldable iPhone Duo, leading to speculation that its consumer base may eventually narrow to a ‘niche of wealthy early adopters’. Additionally, the launch faced significant social media competition, as rival brands used the event to mock Apple’s late entry into the foldable market.
