Apple hardware roadmap revealed through macOS code leaks

Code discovered in the macOS Tahoe 26.7 candidate version has revealed numerous codenames for unreleased Apple products, providing a glimpse into the company’s future hardware roadmap.

In the iPhone lineup, codenames V63 and V64 correspond to the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, while V68 is linked to a rumored foldable iPhone Ultra. Other identified models include the iPhone Air 2 (V62) and a standard iPhone 18 (V67) expected in spring 2027.

Mac and iPad developments are also evident. Codename J804 points to an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M6 chip, while J833 and J834 refer to new iMac models. High-end MacBook Pro variants with OLED touchscreens are indicated by codenames K114c, K114s, K116c, and K116s. Additionally, the code mentions a next-generation iPad mini, a home hub running homeOS, and AirPods equipped with cameras.

Regarding spatial computing, the codename N109 has surfaced, suggesting ongoing development of a second-generation Vision Pro or a new wearable device. This device appears to utilize the Peridot LiDAR system, similar to the technology found in the iPhone 15 Pro.
