Apple hardware undergoes durability testing and feature comparisons

Apple's latest hardware releases, including the iPhone 18 Pro and new Apple Watch models, are undergoing rigorous third-party testing and comparison.

Durability tests on the iPhone 18 Pro by creators like JerryRigEverything show that its Ceramic Shield 2 display is highly resistant to scratches, maintaining integrity through flame exposure and bending tests. However, drop tests indicate that while the rear glass is resilient, the front display remains vulnerable to cracking. iFixit assigned the iPhone 18 Pro a repairability score of 7 out of 10, noting that while the rear glass is relatively easy to remove, certain internal plastic frames are prone to damage during disassembly, which may necessitate full display module replacements.

In the smartwatch segment, the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 offer distinct profiles. Both devices share the S11 chip and a new Health Sensing System, including 3rd-generation electrical heart sensors and blood oxygen sensors. The Series 12 is positioned as a lightweight, slim option for daily wear, while the Ultra 4 features a larger 49mm titanium case and superior battery life of up to 50 hours, catering to outdoor and high-performance users.
