Apple hikes prices on Macs, iPads, HomePod and Apple TV in global rollout
Apple announced a broad price increase across its product lineup, affecting MacBooks, iPads, HomePod speakers and Apple TV. In Spain the basic iPad rose from €379 to €499 (32%) and the 13‑inch MacBook Air climbed from €1,199 to €1,429 (about 20%). The Mac Studio M4 Max model added €700 to reach €3,029, while the M3 Ultra jumped 31% to €6,349. HomePod mini prices rose from €109 to €139 (28%) and the second‑generation HomePod from €349 to €399 (14%). Apple TV 4K prices increased from €169 to €229 (36%).
Apple attributed the hikes to a “historic” surge in memory‑chip costs driven by AI‑related demand, saying it had previously protected customers but could no longer absorb the expense. The company’s stock fell roughly 5% on the news. Analysts note the moves could curb sales in markets already facing a slowdown, as memory‑DRAM and NAND prices have quadrupled since major cloud providers raised AI budgets.
The price adjustments were applied globally, with the European market seeing an average increase of about 20% across the affected devices.
