Apple hints at new Apple TV 4K via support documentation

Apple has updated a support document regarding Hi-Res Lossless audio in Apple Music, which may indicate the upcoming release of a fourth-generation Apple TV 4K. The updated text states that Hi-Res Lossless is available on ‘Apple TV 4K (3rd generation or later)’. Since the 3rd generation is the current model, the inclusion of ‘or later’ suggests a new iteration is imminent.

Speculation regarding the new hardware suggests it could feature an A19 or A19 Pro chip and an increase in RAM from 4GB to 8GB or 12GB. These upgrades would likely enable support for Apple Intelligence and Siri AI features. Other rumored improvements include an N1 chip for Wi-Fi 7 support and a revised Siri Remote. While performance is expected to increase significantly, leaked images suggest the physical design may remain identical to the current model released in October 2022.
