Apple hires former Meta executive Scott Tucker to lead global litigation

Apple has appointed Scott Tucker, a former Meta executive, to the newly created role of vice president of global litigation and financial services. Tucker will oversee commercial and patent litigation on a global scale, as well as legal matters related to the company’s financial services.

The move is part of a broader reorganization of Apple’s legal and government affairs departments under General Counsel Jennifer Newstead. Under this new structure, Heather Grenier, vice president of commercial and competition litigation, will report to Tucker instead of directly to Newstead.

Additionally, longtime legal executive Kyle Andeer will see his responsibilities expanded to include international legal matters, cybersecurity, online child safety, and law enforcement functions. The reorganization follows the departures of previous executives and aims to consolidate legal and government affairs under Newstead’s leadership. Tim Cook remains involved in managing government relations in his capacity as executive chairman.
