Apple iCloud storage issues affect iPhone users
iPhone users are reporting issues regarding iCloud storage management, including persistent notifications to upgrade storage even when active plans are in place. This technical glitch has been observed across multiple iOS versions, including iOS 26.7 and iOS 27.
In some cases, the notification appears as a red badge in the Settings app, redirecting users to purchase more space despite having sufficient capacity, such as 2 TB plans. While some may speculate this is a marketing tactic, evidence suggests it is a technical error since it affects accounts with ample space. A temporary workaround reported by users involves signing out of and back into ‘Media & Purchases.’
Additionally, users frequently encounter storage saturation due to Apple’s limited 5 GB free tier. Managing this space requires identifying high-consumption data such as device backups, photos, videos, and large message attachments through the ‘Manage Account Storage’ section in device settings.
