Apple adds precise Liquid Glass control in iOS 27

Apple's iOS 27 update replaces the earlier two‑option Liquid Glass settings (Clear and Tinted) with a continuous slider that lets users fine‑tune interface translucency. The control is found under Settings → Appearance → Liquid Glass and offers a range from almost fully transparent to heavily tinted, with the default set at the midpoint. As the slider moves, a real‑time preview shows how the change will look across the system, affecting the lock screen, Control Center, home‑screen folders and app overlays.

Apple says the new implementation improves how complex content is diffused behind the glass effect and creates clearer separation between interface layers. Users who need more drastic changes can use the Accessibility options Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast. The same Liquid Glass adjustments are also included in iPadOS 27 and macOS 27 (Golden Gate).
