Apple introduces Adaptive Power for iPhone battery management
Apple is introducing power management features to help iPhone users extend battery life for essential tasks like calls and navigation. For users running iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence support, the Adaptive Power feature can analyze usage patterns to automatically adjust energy consumption. This includes reducing screen brightness, adjusting performance, and limiting background activities.
Adaptive Power is enabled by default on the iPhone 17 series, including the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air. On other compatible devices, users can activate it via the Battery settings. Additionally, the system can automatically trigger Low Power Mode when the battery reaches 20%, though users can use the Shortcuts app to automate this mode at higher thresholds, such as 30% or 40%, to preserve energy.
