Apple introduces extra-large widgets in iOS 27

Following the official rollout of iOS 27, Apple is expanding home screen customization options through the introduction of extra-large widgets. This update moves beyond the previous 4x4 grid limit to a new 4x6 expanded grid, allowing users to occupy nearly an entire home screen panel.

This change is particularly significant for the upcoming iPhone Duo, a foldable device designed to maximize display area. Eleven native Apple applications have already adapted their interfaces to support the 4x6 layout, including Shortcuts, Stocks, Calendar, Weather, Photos, Home, Music, Notes, Apple News, and Reminders.
