Apple introduces iOS 27 features for iPhone Duo and Apple TV Remote

Apple is introducing significant software updates with iOS 27, specifically targeting its new foldable hardware and ecosystem integration.

Netflix has developed a specialized application experience for the iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable device. The app utilizes the device’s 7.6-inch internal screen through a redesigned interface. Key features include a dynamic Billboard section for content discovery and a Clips feature that offers vertical short-form video feeds. The interface is designed to adapt dynamically to the device’s folded or unfolded states, ensuring seamless transitions between vertical and horizontal viewing modes.

Additionally, iOS 27 enhances the Apple TV Remote functionality. The update transforms the iPhone from a simple touch-surface controller into a more robust second screen. New features include an app launcher that lists installed Apple TV apps and a ‘Continue Watching’ section that allows users to select content directly from their iPhone rather than navigating television menus. Users will also have the option to add the Remote icon back to the Home Screen for easier access.
