Apple introduces new features in iOS 27 and watchOS 27

Apple has introduced several updates to its software ecosystem through iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and watchOS 27.

The Weather app has been enhanced with a new ‘Highlights’ section, which appears below the current temperature to provide immediate insight into significant weather changes such as upcoming rain or increasing wind speeds. Additionally, the app now features dedicated views for precipitation and wind, allowing users to switch between standard, rain, and wind forecasts to see hourly and daily visualizations more clearly.

On the Apple Watch, watchOS 27 improves the Smart Stack feature. The update introduces enhanced contextual suggestions based on location, time, and activity, alongside a new single-tap gesture for easier one-handed widget interaction. Smart Stack serves as a dynamic collection of widgets, such as calendar appointments and Live Activities, designed to provide relevant information without cluttering the watch face with complications.
