Apple introduces slideshow creator and enhanced sharing tools in Photos app

Apple announced that the next version of its Photos app, arriving with iOS 27, will let users play any collection of photos and videos as a slideshow. Users can adjust slide duration, choose transition styles and add music, and they will be able to export the finished slideshow directly as a video in their library.

The update also adds new features for Shared Albums, including emoji reactions, a view of recent activity, support for full‑resolution photos and videos, and more flexible album‑organization tools. Additional improvements include the ability to save individual video frames as photos, new collections such as “Captured by Me” and “Identity Documents,” and better search results for people and pets.
