Apple introduces three new iPhone calling features

Apple has introduced three new features for the iPhone Phone app designed to improve the calling experience: Hold Assist, Call Screening, and Call Context.

Call Screening allows the device to answer calls from unknown numbers by asking the caller for their name and purpose, displaying the response on the lock screen so the user can decide whether to answer or send the call to voicemail. Hold Assist detects when a user is placed on hold by a customer service line and waits on the user's behalf, notifying them once a live person is available.

Call Context, which utilizes Apple Intelligence, is expected to arrive soon and requires an iPhone 15 Pro or newer. This feature can automatically retrieve relevant information, such as confirmation codes from emails or order numbers, to assist during a call.

Currently, these features are not supported in the Czech or Slovak languages, a limitation acknowledged by Apple.
