Apple iOS 27 adds receipt‑splitting, digital card storage and advanced Find My controls

Apple’s upcoming iOS 27, slated for release in autumn 2026, introduces three everyday‑focused features. Users can photograph a restaurant receipt, after which Apple Intelligence extracts line items, tax and tip and proposes a split that can be sent via Messages. The function relies on Apple Cash, which at present is only available in the United States, so users elsewhere must use alternate payment apps.

The Wallet app gains a “Create a Pass” option that lets any physical card with a barcode or QR code – such as loyalty, library or fitness cards – be scanned and stored digitally, ready for display on iPhone or Apple Watch.

Find My now allows location sharing for intervals as short as 15 minutes up to 30 days and adds a “Hide Location” button that silently shows “No Location Found” to the hidden contact.

A new standalone Siri app includes a chat interface where users can long‑press the input field and choose between Siri’s own model and ChatGPT, though conversations do not carry over between the two and the app reverts to Siri on restart.
