Apple launches iOS 27 public beta featuring Siri AI
Apple has made the first public beta of iOS 27 available to all users, releasing it on July 13‑14 2026. The beta, which is identical to the third developer build, introduces a completely rebuilt “Siri AI” that operates as a conversational chatbot, accesses personal data on the device, and offers new voice‑customisation controls. Performance improvements are highlighted, with app launch times up to 30 % faster and AirDrop transfers up to 80 % quicker, plus AI‑enhanced photo editing, Safari tab organisation and other refinements.
The public beta also covers iPadOS 27, macOS 27 “Golden Gate”, watchOS 27, tvOS 27 and HomePod 27, all of which receive the same Siri AI integration where hardware permits. Compatibility spans iPhone 11 and newer models, but full Siri AI features require iPhone 15 Pro or later (and equivalent Apple‑Silicon devices for iPad and Mac). In the European Union the new Siri AI is initially unavailable due to the Digital Markets Act, though it remains on macOS and Vision Pro.
Installation is done through the Apple Beta Software Program; users are advised to back up their devices and avoid installing the beta on a primary phone because the software is still in development and may contain bugs.
