Apple iPhone 16e debuts with in-house C1 modem
Apple has launched the iPhone 16e, marking a technological milestone as the company’s first smartphone to feature its internally developed C1 modem. This move is intended to increase Apple’s independence from external component suppliers for mobile technology.
The device is powered by the A18 chip with a 16-core Neural Engine, supporting Apple Intelligence features. It includes a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, a 48MP Fusion camera with 2x telephoto capability, Face ID, and an Action Button.
In terms of performance, the iPhone 16e offers improved energy efficiency, with battery life reported to last up to six hours longer than the iPhone 11 and twelve hours longer than the iPhone SE. In Vietnam, the device launched on March 7 at an entry price of 16.99 million VND. The model has already seen significant market traction, ranking as the sixth best-selling smartphone globally in the first quarter of 2025.
