Apple iPhone 17 leads global smartphone sales in Q2 2026

Apple's iPhone 17 has become the world's best-selling smartphone as of the second quarter of 2026, according to data from Counterpoint Research. The company dominated the global top three rankings, with the iPhone 17 taking first place, followed by the iPhone 17 Pro Max in second and the iPhone 17 Pro in third.

Despite an 11% decline in total global smartphone shipments due to chip shortages and rising component costs, Apple saw a 5% year-on-year increase in sales. Growth was particularly noted in India, Japan, the Middle East, and Africa, while sales in South Korea nearly doubled.

Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra secured the fourth position in the global rankings. Apple also maintained a strong presence in the top ten with the iPhone 17e at seventh place and the iPhone 16 at tenth.
