Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max runs GTA V via XeniOS emulator, but performance low

A Reddit user succeeded in launching Grand Theft Auto V on an iPhone 17 Pro Max by using XeniOS, an experimental Xbox 360 emulator for iOS. The game runs at a modest 1280 × 720 resolution, delivering an average of 19‑20 FPS, which drops to around 12 FPS in more demanding scenes such as helicopter flights. Despite the iPhone’s powerful A19 Pro chip and a vapor‑chamber cooling system, the device overheated during the test, and the emulation layer, not the hardware, limited performance. Apple promotes the A19 Pro as delivering up to a 69 % speed increase over previous generations, but the current state of XeniOS prevents the iPhone from achieving native‑level gaming speeds. Further emulator updates are expected to improve results, and future iPhone models with newer chips may offer better support for high‑end mobile gaming.
