Apple iPhone 18 expected with 9 GB RAM as older devices stay in demand in Vietnam

Analyst Ming‑Chi Kuo says Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 and the budget iPhone 18e, slated for a March‑April 2027 launch, will use 9 GB of RAM – a modest increase from the current 8 GB but below earlier rumors of 12 GB. The devices will be powered by the next‑generation A20 chip built on TSMC’s 2 nm process, delivering about 15 % higher CPU performance and up to 30 % better energy efficiency. Higher‑end Apple models such as the iPhone 18 Pro line and the first foldable iPhone Ultra are expected to retain 12 GB of RAM.

In Vietnam, a parallel trend sees consumers turning to discontinued Apple products for affordable performance. Resale markets highlight the 2018 12.9‑inch iPad Pro (3rd gen) with its 120 Hz Liquid Retina display, the 2019 13‑inch MacBook Pro featuring a butterfly keyboard and Intel i5 CPU, the 2017 iPhone 11 Pro still receiving iOS updates, the iconic iPod classic, and the 2019 Apple Watch Series 5, all sought after for their lasting build quality and functional capabilities.
