Apple iPhone 18 Pro faces hardware defects and connectivity issues
Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models are facing multiple hardware and software challenges following their release. Users have reported physical defects, including discoloration on the aluminum chassis spreading from the camera rings, particularly in Burgundy and black finishes. Additionally, intermittent audio issues such as clicking and crackling sounds from the upper speaker have been noted, which persist despite the iOS 27.0.1 update.
Connectivity issues have also emerged for iPhone 18 Pro Max users on the AT&T network. Some devices have lost all cellular functionality, including the ability to make emergency 911 calls. While AT&T suggested that the iOS 27.0.1 update might resolve the problem, reports indicate that devices already experiencing the outage require a free hardware replacement from Apple.
Furthermore, the new iOS 27 update has drawn scrutiny regarding a feature called ‘Connectivity Assist’. Users have reported increased battery consumption and higher mobile data usage, suggesting the feature may be aggressively switching to cellular data when Wi-Fi signals are weak.
