Apple iPhone 18 Pro series sees global sales growth driven by China

Global sales for the Apple iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max series increased by 3.1 percent during the first three weeks of availability compared to the previous generation. This growth was primarily driven by a 29 percent surge in the Chinese market, which analysts attribute to improved product availability and higher prices for competing premium Android smartphones.

In contrast, sales declined in other major markets. The United States saw a 4 percent decrease, with reports suggesting consumers perceived insufficient design or feature improvements to justify upgrading. Japan experienced a more significant 27 percent drop, exacerbated by currency exchange rates that amplified price increases.

The new series features the A20 Pro chip, built on a 2-nanometer process by TSMC, which offers enhanced performance and efficiency. The lineup also includes the iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable smartphone, which utilizes the same A20 Pro processor and features a 7.6-inch internal OLED display.
