Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max launch prompts steep discounts on iPhone 17 Pro Max in Vietnam

Leaker Instant Digital revealed that the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max will be offered in three colors—Dark Cherry, Light Blue and Silver‑Gray—and is slated for release in about two months. Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has acknowledged rising component costs, especially for memory chips, which could push the iPhone 18 Pro Max’s price toward $2,000.

In Vietnam, retailers are responding to the anticipated price increase by cutting prices on the current iPhone 17 Pro Max. The 256 GB model now sells for just over 35 million VND, roughly a million VND lower than before, while 1 TB and 2 TB versions receive discounts of 3‑5 million VND. Analysts suggest buyers can secure a high‑end iPhone at a more affordable price before the newer generation hits the market.
