Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max to Feature Record 5,400 mAh Battery

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are reported to receive the largest battery capacities ever fitted to an iPhone. The eSIM‑only version of the Pro Max would house a 5,425 mAh cell, while the model that retains a physical Nano‑SIM slot would use a 5,235 mAh battery. The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to carry 4,056 mAh (SIM‑tray) or 4,288 mAh (eSIM) packs. Certification data from China’s 3C authority and multiple supply‑chain leaks corroborate these figures.

The hardware upgrade is paired with Apple’s next‑generation A20 Pro processor, manufactured on TSMC’s 2‑nanometre process. The chip is claimed to deliver roughly 30 % lower power consumption than the previous generation, which together with the larger cells should boost real‑world endurance by well over 10 %.

Apple may also unveil a foldable “iPhone Ultra” at its September 2026 event. The device would combine a 5.5‑inch outer screen with a 7.8‑inch inner display and is expected to launch at a price of $2,300‑$2,500. Early production is limited to 7‑8 million units, with only 0.5‑1 million slated for the third‑quarter rollout, meaning pre‑orders could be delayed by several months and availability may extend into late 2026.
