Apple iPhone 18 Pro series rumored with Dark Cherry color, mechanical iris and A20 Pro chip

Reports indicate Apple will unveil its iPhone 18 Pro line in September 2026, featuring a new A20 Pro processor built on a 2 nm process, RAM integrated on‑chip, and a redesigned Dynamic Island that may be smaller. The flagship iPhone 18 Pro Max is said to include a mechanical iris aperture with variable f‑stop control, a first for smartphones, promising better exposure and HDR video performance.

Leaks also reveal a new "Dark Cherry" finish for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, alongside Light Blue, Black, Dark Grey and Silver options. The Dark Cherry shade is described as a deep rose‑red with a pinkish hue under certain lighting. Analysts note the series could be accompanied by Apple’s first foldable device, sometimes referred to as the iPhone Ultra, slated for the same launch window.

These details come from pre‑production photographs shared by tech journalist Jon Rettinger and corroborated by other industry sources, though Apple has not confirmed any specifics.
