Apple iPhone 18 Pro slated for new Dark Cherry color
Apple is reportedly testing a new Dark Cherry color for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro. The hue is described as a deep wine‑red that can shift toward a subtle purple depending on angle and lighting, distinguishing it from previous neutral Pro colors and possibly replacing the prior Cosmic Orange option. Supply‑chain leaks also show Apple evaluating additional shades such as Silver, Dark Gray and Light Blue, though the final palette has not been confirmed and Apple has not issued an official statement. The company is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 series in September 2026.
Separate reports indicate that Apple plans to revise the aluminum manufacturing process for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. The new method would use lower temperatures and fewer electro‑chemical refining stages, aiming to increase corrosion resistance and reduce the risk of the chassis discoloring—a problem observed by some iPhone 17 Pro users. The changes are intended to improve durability for the high‑priced device, including the Dark Cherry variant.
