Apple to unveil iPhone 18 Pro with variable aperture and new C2 baseband in September

Apple is preparing a September 2026 launch of its next‑generation flagship line, featuring the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the first foldable iPhone Ultra. The event is expected on 9 September, with pre‑orders slated for 11 September and sales beginning 18 September.

Key hardware upgrades for the iPhone 18 Pro series include a variable‑aperture camera system, a smaller Dynamic Island cutout, and Apple’s own C2 baseband chip that replaces Qualcomm’s modem. The devices will also be powered by a new 2 nm A20 processor, larger batteries and, according to analysts, a price rise of $250‑$300 (about €1 459 for the Pro model in Spain).

Separate rumors point to Apple’s 20th‑anniversary iPhone lineup, slated for 2027, which may sport 6.4‑inch and roughly 7‑inch edge‑to‑edge displays, a four‑curved borderless design, under‑display Face ID, an A21 chip and higher‑bandwidth memory.
