Apple iPhone Duo reports overheating during 4K video recording

Early testers of the Apple iPhone Duo have reported significant overheating issues when recording video in 4K at 60 frames per second.

According to impressions from the YouTube channel Mediastorm, while the device’s vapor chamber cooling system manages most tasks effectively, the area beneath the camera module becomes uncomfortably hot during high-resolution video capture. The issue may stem from the internal hardware layout, where energy-intensive components are concentrated near the sensors.

While it is unclear if the problem is hardware-based or software-related, there is hope that a future update could mitigate the heat. The iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable smartphone, is scheduled for release in October.
