Apple iPhone Duo sells out on Blinkit within five minutes in India

Apple’s first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, experienced a rapid sell-out on the quick commerce platform Blinkit in the Delhi-NCR region. Following its availability at 8:15 AM, the entire stock was exhausted within five minutes. Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa confirmed the surge on social media, noting that the company is working to restock in the coming weeks.

The device features a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display, powered by the A20 Pro chip. Pricing for the base 256GB model starts at ₹2,99,900, with higher capacities reaching up to ₹4,49,900 for the 2TB model. While the rapid sale has sparked debates regarding wealth inequality and purchasing power in India, it also highlights high demand in the premium segment.

Early user feedback and testing have highlighted several technical challenges. Durability tests by JerryRigEverything showed mixed results regarding scratch resistance, and users have reported issues with the 4MP under-display FaceTime camera quality. Additionally, some software glitches have emerged, including apps like Gmail and Google Calendar not yet optimizing for the new aspect ratio, and orientation errors during video calls, though some issues have already been addressed via updates from Apple and Meta.
