Apple iPhone Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide set launch dates and specs
Apple is expected to announce its first foldable iPhone later in 2026. Leaked renderings show an interior display of about 7.8 inches in a 4:3 format, a cover screen near 5.5 inches, and the omission of Face ID in favor of a side‑button Touch ID. The device appears to be offered only in white and is projected to launch in September at a starting price of roughly $1,999.
Samsung plans to debut the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide at its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on 22 July 2026. The model will feature a 7.6‑inch interior screen in a 4:3 aspect ratio, a slimmer 4.5 mm hinge, 201 g weight, a 4,800 mAh battery with 45 W wired charging, and a dual 50‑megapixel rear camera. Pricing is expected to be close to $1,999, slightly below the standard Z Fold 8. Analysts estimate Apple could capture about 34 % of the foldable market’s value in its first year.
