Apple to unveil iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max and foldable iPhone Ultra in Sep 2026, push standard iPhone 18 to 2027
Apple will limit its September 2026 event to the flagship iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, together with the company’s first foldable phone, dubbed iPhone Ultra. The regular‑priced iPhone 18 and a lower‑cost iPhone 18e are being postponed to a spring‑2027 release, a move Apple says will prevent an overcrowded launch lineup and help manage component costs.
The iPhone 18 Pro is reported to use an LTPO+ OLED panel that cuts power consumption, with a Dynamic Island about 35 % smaller than on the iPhone 17 Pro. New colour options – Dark Cherry, Light Blue, Dark Gray and Silver – are expected. Camera upgrades include a variable‑aperture main lens and a larger‑aperture telephoto lens. Internally the device will be powered by Apple’s A20 Pro 2 nm processor with 12 GB of RAM and may employ Apple‑designed C2 5G modems in some markets, while the U.S. could receive a Qualcomm SDX80M modem.
The foldable iPhone Ultra is envisioned with an external screen and a large inner display of roughly 7 inches, marking Apple’s entry into the foldable market. The combination of a streamlined Pro lineup and a distinct foldable model aims to give each product its own spotlight and align with Apple’s broader product‑spacing strategy.
