Apple iPhone pricing exceeds iPad despite smaller size

Apple's pricing structure often results in iPhones being more expensive than iPads despite their smaller physical size. For instance, the entry-level iPhone 17e is priced at USD 599, while the most affordable 11th generation iPad is priced at USD 449.

Several technical and market factors contribute to this price gap. Engineering challenges include the need to condense motherboards, batteries, System-on-Chip (SoC) components, antennas, and sensors into a much smaller space than an iPad. This requires high precision to manage heat dissipation and component interference.

Additionally, iPhones feature more advanced technology, such as superior 48MP cameras, OLED displays, MagSafe charging, NFC, and water resistance certifications. Unlike iPads, iPhones also include cellular components for conventional voice calls.
