Apple iPhone sales decline by 30% in India during festive season

Apple has experienced a significant downturn in iPhone sales in India during the recent festive season, including Navratri, Dussehra, and Diwali. Reports indicate a 30% drop in sales around the Dussehra period, leaving retailers with excess inventory.

Market analysts attribute this decline to rising prices and a lack of significant promotional offers. Additionally, there is a growing trend of consumers retaining older smartphone models longer. This slowdown poses a risk to Apple's growth in India, the world's second-largest smartphone market. If demand does not recover during the Diwali period, annual shipments could see a double-digit percentage decline compared to the record 14.3 million units recorded in 2025.
