Apple iPhone Ultra foldable expected to debut in September 2026 FAST-MOVING

Apple is reportedly preparing to unveil its first foldable smartphone, internally referred to as the iPhone Ultra, during a September 2026 event. The device is expected to feature a book-style design with a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.7 or 7.8-inch inner screen, potentially offering an iPad-like user interface.

To achieve an ultra-thin profile of approximately 4.5mm when unfolded, Apple may make several hardware compromises. These include replacing Face ID with a side-mounted Touch ID sensor, omitting a telephoto lens in favor of a 48MP main and ultra-wide camera setup, and potentially removing the Action Button and MagSafe support. The device may also transition to an eSIM-only configuration.

Early internal testers have reportedly praised the device's durability, hinge mechanism, and pocketability. However, the iPhone Ultra is expected to be a premium product with a starting price exceeding $2,000. Production may face initial challenges, including component shortages and limited stock availability. The launch event is anticipated to include the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max series, while standard iPhone 18 models may be delayed until 2027.
